Mueller: A mix of past and present influences in my life. As a new resident to San Diego I'm greatly influenced by the incredible relationship between people and nature- particularly the ocean. I love paintings from the art nouveau period and try to reference them in my work while using a brighter color palette and more contemporary subject matter.

Mueller: An independent study I did at RISD, that was later developed into a class offered in the illustration department.

Mueller: When I won a safety calendar competition in 5th grade. I illustrated the month of December & drew a picture of a kid getting electrocuted by Christmas lights, with the safety message "Let your parents decorate the house."
